This week (Feb 2 - 6) is National School Counseling Week, so this is a shout-out to the incredible counselors across MSD! 🤩
Whether it’s helping high schoolers map out their graduation plans, supporting middle schoolers as they navigate new school schedules and social dynamics, or inspiring our youngest learners to believe in themselves (and teaching them ways to regulate strong new emotions), the work our counselors do is a vital component of creating welcoming and inclusive learning environments for all.
🐻 This year is Kellogg Marsh counselor Heidi Mooring’s 25th year in the district! She said, “I love meeting students where they are and enjoy running groups and finding unique ways to meet their needs.”
🐬 Allen Creek counselor Toni Jetten has worked with MSD for 8 years across all grade levels, and says she loves serving this community – whether it’s seeing families at after-school events, or witnessing community members come together to provide additional support for students or families who need it.
❤️ And the team over at Marysville Pilchuck High School shared their driving philosophy: “Each student is unique, and our counselors recognize that there’s no 'one size fits all' approach to supporting their individual needs. Through personalized attention and understanding, we guide our students on their educational journeys, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their goals, inside and out of the classroom.”
Thank you, MSD counselors!
