Welcome to Facilities, Maintenance, and Grounds

The Facilities and Maintenance department maintains oversight of all building facility maintenance needs and grounds district-wide.

Our main priority is to maintain existing facilities using preventive maintenance, regular repairs and minor improvements. Facilities also have oversight of Custodial, Grounds, and Maintenance departments.

FORMS

ANNUAL FACILITIES NOTIFICATIONS

Asbestos Hazardous Emergency Response Act
The 1986 Asbestos Hazardous Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requires school district to identify buildings that contain asbestos. The act also requires school facilities to maintain written management plans. Management plans are available for review at the individual school in question as well as at our Maintenance Office located at 4220 80th St NE Marysville, WA.

Pest Control & Herbicide Use
The 2001 Legislature passed House Bill 1451 that requires school district to notify the public of pest control and herbicide use. An interested person can register with the District Maintenance Office to receive notification of pesticide application or obtain further information about the Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPMP).

For more information about these notices, please contact Gregg Kuehn at 360-965-0110.

CUSTODIAL DEPARTMENT

The Custodial Department supports all aspects of learning by providing clean, safe and healthy environments for students, staff and community members. In addition to custodial cleaning responsibilities, custodians also:

  • Secure our facilities.

  • Participate in emergency procedures.

  • Assist with all school events.

  • Work with facility user groups on a daily basis.

  • Troubleshoot and report maintenance items.

  • Perform regular maintenance

As a team across the district, we value the learning process and pledge to serve all students, staff and community members to the best of our ability. Our goal is to provide a healthy environment, so that all individuals will have a positive experience at any of our sites.

GROUNDS DEPARTMENT

The Grounds Department is made up of six full time employees that do routine maintenance and ground keeping duties. They maintain over 360 acres of ornamental landscape, athletic fields and playgrounds throughout the District.

MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

The Maintenance Department provides general maintenance services that support all school district activities. The staff representing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing and locksmith trades, are responsible for the maintenance of 20 sites and over 1.6 million square feet.
