Child Nutrition

Welcome to the Marysville School District Child Nutritional Services. We are located at the Service Center (4220 80th St. NE). Our hours are 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM Monday-Friday (Service Center hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). If you have a Family Income Survey to drop off after hours, please use the lock box located to the right of the main doors if the Service Center is closed. If you have any questions, please call or email Child Nutrition Services. Payments for staff or your students' ala carte meals can be made online via the "pay online" link to the right, at the Service Center, or at your student's school.

Nutritious Meals

Our menus are nutritionally analyzed to provide the appropriate levels of calories, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, iron, and percentages of fat and saturated fat. A school lunch consists of an entrée, side dishes and milk. Students are required to take a minimum of an entrée and at least one other food item. If the student does not take the minimum meal requirements, the lunch is considered “ala carte”. We encourage students to make healthy food choices. Each school has an Offering Bar filled with an assortment of salads, fruits and vegetables. The Offering Bar is self-service to allow students to take larger portions of their favorite fruits and vegetables.

Breakfast

We believe that breakfast is a vital part of a child’s day. Studies have shown a direct link between eating breakfast and a child’s ability to learn. Students who eat breakfast are able to perform better in school. Breakfast is available each morning at all of the Marysville Schools.

All secondary schools in the district will now offer a “Second Chance Breakfast” to ensure all students have equal access to a breakfast in the mornings. This will take place after the bell (between 1st & 2nd periods in most schools) and will help students who are late or were unable to receive breakfast before school started to get their meal and start their morning on a great note. Financial Assistance Programs

Financial assistance is available for families who have qualified for the Free and Reduced Eligibility Program via DSHS, TANF, McKinney Vento, Migrant Education, ECEAP, a Family Income Survey, etc. If you received an eligibility letter, you may present it to the below listed places with your application for financial assistance and begin receiving discounts and benefits today! If you have not already qualified for the eligibility Program, please submit a Family Income Survey to our office.

If you have lost, misplaced or given away your letter please contact Lindsey Fitch, Child Nutrition Services Specialist, 360-965-0115 to receive a new copy via mail, or pick up a new copy at the Child Nutrition Office (4220 80th St. NE).

Meal Prices & Information

ALL students eat for FREE in the 2023 - 2024 School Year!

Our district is now operating under the Community Eligibility Program and all schools within Marysville School District are now eligible for FREE breakfast and lunch, regardless of Free Lunch Eligibility Status. This means that all students enrolled will receive free meals for the 2023-2024 school year. This does not include a second meal, a la carte items, or items sold through student stores. The free meal must be a "reimbursable meal" to be free. Taking single items or an incomplete meal will be charged as a la carte items and will not be free to the student.

Payments for student meals can be made by clicking on "pay online" to the left of this page, in person at the Service Center (located on 80th St. NE), or at your student's school.

We are unable to accept payments over the phone.

Family Income Survey

A new Family Income Survey is required to be filled out every school year in order to apply/receive Free & Reduced Eligibility benefits (such as fee waivers for ASB, Sports, testing and other programs such as AP testing and Running Start). This year's Surveys were mailed out to households Mid-August 2023. We encourage all families to fill one out regardless of income. Completed surveys may be mailed/dropped off at the Service Center or your students’ schools. We will notify you if your survey is approved/denied by mail.
The Food Service department receives a large number of surveys that we input manually at the beginning of the school year. Please complete the application thoroughly in order for it to be processed quickly and to avoid delay. 

A Consent to Share Information Form was also mailed home at that time. This form allows our office to share your student's Eligibility Status with programs such as athletics and ASB in order to waive their fees. If you wish to have access to these waivers please fill out the Consent to Share Information Form and submit in addition to your survey. Necessary information in order to process this form is; Student name(s), Parent/Guardian Signature, Parent/Guardian printed name and Phone number.

FAMILY INCOME SURVEY GUIDELINES

Schools receive certain federal and state funding (Learning Assistance Program, teacher incentives, etc.) based on the number of children from households that are at or below the federal poverty level. This Family Income Survey provides your child’s school a way to collect household income information.  This information makes sure your child’s school receives the full amount of federal and state funding and makes sure your child receives services they are entitled to when free/reduced price applications are not collected.

It is important that you complete this survey.  Please complete and return this form to Your school’s front office, or the Child Nutrition Services office at 4220 80th St. NE Marysville, WA 98270.


Please use a black or blue pen to fill out the survey. Applications in pencil or red ink will not be accepted. Please see required information below in order to process your application without delay.

Part 1. ELIGIBILITY:  Figure out your total household income.  Then look at the income chart below.  Find your household size.  If your total household income is equal to or less than the amount listed for your household size, check the box.

HOUSEHOLD is defined as all persons, including parents, children, grandparents, and all people related or unrelated who live in your home and share living expenses.  If you’re applying for a household with a foster child, you may include the foster child in the total household size.

HOUSEHOLD INCOME is considered to be any taxable income each household member received before taxes.  This includes wages, social security, pension, unemployment, welfare, child support, alimony, and any other cash income.  If including a foster child as part of the household, you must also include the foster child’s personal income.  Do not count foster payments as income.

Students New to the Marysville School District:
If your child(ren) attended a different school district the prior year, a new Income Survey is to be filled out with Marysville School District for our records in order to qualify them.

Students transferring to a non-CEP District:
Students that are enrolled in Marysville School District, which is a Community Eligibility Provision (C.E.P.) school district, have a 30-day grace period of Free Meal Eligibility when enrolling/transferring to a new, non-CEP school district.
Fair Hearing:
If you do not agree with the decision on your child's application or the process used to prove income eligibility, you may talk with Dr. Lisa Gonzales (Executive Director of Finance & Operations), the Fair Hearing Official. You have the right to a fair hearing which may be arranged by calling the school's district at this number 360-965-0115.
Re-applications:
You may apply for benefits any time during the school year. If you should have a decrease in household income, an increase in household size, or become unemployed, or receive Basic Food, TANF or FDPIR, you may be eligible for benefits and may fill out a Family Income Survey at that time.
