April 20, 2022 Dear Totem Families, Our school takes pride in and celebrates the diversity of our students, families, staff, and our community. Since the start of this school year, action steps have been taken by the Marysville School District to address concerns related to meeting the needs of each student such as social-emotional and physical safety, addressing inequitable practices, and creating a sense of belonging. Part of these action steps include schools hosting “listening sessions” to bring our students, families, staff, and community members together to share their needs and concerns. We are committed to actively listening to each of your experiences. Please join us April 28 at 5pm in the TMS Library for our school’s listening session. If you are unable to attend, we will be creating a Google Survey for you to include your feedback. Grove Elementary student and Marysville Little League player, Ellie Petermeyer, will throw out the first pitch. Go teams! TMS students have no school today due to staffing shortages. We will be remote learning Thursday & Friday. Students return to the building on Tuesday Jan 18.

A follow up to the Totem bus incident to provide additional details: The bus slid on some ice and was on the edge of the road. Emergency responders arrived on the scene and students were safely evacuated. Students are being transported to Totem Middle School by a new bus.

We are aware of a bus incident on Waterworks Road on the Tulalip Reservation. This bus was carrying Totem Middle School students. All students are safe and have been evacuated. The fire department is transporting the students to the Tulalip Fire Station, where they will be picked up by a new bus and transported to Totem. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact Totem Middle School at 360-965-0500 or the Transportation Center at 360-965-0300.
