UPDATE 12:17 PM: The modified lockdown at Liberty Elementary has ended and school operations are resuming as normal. Thank you.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION: This morning, the Marysville School District was notified of police activity occurring in the neighborhood near Liberty Elementary School, which resulted in a modified lockdown of the campus out of an abundance of caution.
Students and staff are safe on campus, and classrooms are continuing to operate.
MSD security teams will remain in active communication with MPD and our staff until the incident is resolved.

Please take a moment to review our Liberty calendar for January 2026. Includes upcoming events, and reminders for the remainder of the month.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Due to power outages at schools across the system today, Dec. 17, Marysville School District will be closed.
All before and after-school activities and athletics are also canceled.

Marysville School District buses have so far been able to transport students to and from school safely. The MSD Transportation team expects that buses will continue to be able to pick up students safely tomorrow.
MSD Leadership does not anticipate any district-wide school closures or delays due to the weather, but will continue to monitor the situation overnight.
However, MSD schools are ready to provide flexibility with student tardies and absences for families who have been affected by flood road closures and evacuations.
Ultimately, our students' safety is our top priority.

Hello Families,
Due to today’s weather and flooding in the surrounding areas, the 21st Century After-School Program will be canceled today. Please make sure your student(s) are picked up promptly after school.
If you need to make any transportation changes, please call the office prior to 3:00 PM, as the office will be very busy.
Thank you for your understanding.
