MSD Update

Dear Families, Students, Staff, and Community Members,

Our Superintendent, Jason Thompson, is currently on a leave of absence. At this time, our Deputy Superintendent, Lori Knudson, will assume his duties and responsibilities.

Following is a message from Ms. Knudson:

We are so excited to welcome our 4th and 5th grade students back to school today! Their smiles and enthusiasm were contagious as they saw their teachers and classmates. Knowing that many of our students have been out of “in person” school for a year, we are focusing and prioritizing our time and attention on meeting the needs of our students.  This includes planning for the return of our secondary students to campus in mid-April.  We continue to appreciate your patience and flexibility as we transition back to in-person learning for all students.

Another priority is our continued efforts to address racism, racial injustice, and discrimination in our schools and community. This will be a collaborative effort with our students and families, the City of Marysville, the Marysville Police Department, the Tulalip Tribes, and our District. Please look for further communication on this topic in the near future.

Thank you for your continued support for our schools and district. Together, we know we can make a positive difference in the lives of our students, with our staff, and in our Marysville and Tulalip communities. Please feel free to contact me to discuss our priorities or to share any questions or concerns.

In Partnership,

Lori Knudson Deputy Superintendent
