COVID-19 Update, March 25, 2020

Work continues during the closure on the evolution of our learning approach as referenced in yesterday’s message. Groups have been meeting, virtually, all over the district today planning and developing materials and content. We are trying to move forward together and create consistent approaches and expectations that are responsive to the needs of the community and adaptive to the students and content too.

Tomorrow, the district will hold the second drive up Chromebook deployment for K-5 families who do not have access to a computer or the internet and were not able to make the first opportunity last Saturday. School supplies and hygiene kits will also be available to those who need them.

2nd Opportunity for Drive-Up Chromebook Checkout

What: Drive-Up Chromebook Check Out

When: Thursday, March 26 - 2:00 - 5:00 PM

Where: Service Center (Entrance will be right turn only off of Northbound State Avenue)

4220 80th Street NE

Marysville, WA 98270

What do we need to bring for the Chromebook?

You will need your child’s name, school, grade level and student ID number if you know it, which is also their lunch number and password when you add a leading zero. This will help us verify your child is enrolled in one of our schools, so we can check the device out directly to the student.

The entrance to the drive-up deployment will only be from State Avenue, accessible only from the Northbound, right-hand lane, just about a block before 80th Street. Staff will be on hand to provide directions and instructions for both Chromebook checkout and school supplies and hygiene kits.

We are mailing home login information for K-5 students, including Clever Badges, this Friday. This login information will help students log onto district Chromebooks, but it is also useful on personal devices to allow students access to district resources.

One apology is due today. Emails with login information started sending today from an automated merge system, and unfortunately, those largely contain the wrong password. The correct password for your child is available in Skyward Family Access in the “other ID” field. It is also their ID number that is used for lunches. Just add one additional zero to the beginning of the “other ID” to make the 8 digit password for your child’s account.

Everything else in the email appears to be correct. Not all elementary families received these emails, but if you did, please verify the correct password for your child. We’ll correct the issue and resend emails beginning tomorrow too.

This would also be a good time to log onto Family Access and update the Parent / Guardian information, including your own email addresses, for your children.

Thank you for your continued patience, support, and grace as we navigate this together.

Sincerely,

Jason Thompson
Superintendent
