I am originally from southern California and attended Pepperdine University, where I received undergraduate and masters degrees in early childhood education. I have been at Allen Creek since 1995. I have taught kindergarten, first and second grades for many years.
My husband Jeff and I have two active boys. Jake attends Montana State University, studying mechanical engineering and Drew is at Snohomish High School and active with soccer. I can relate to high-energy boys, selective listening, and busy schedules. I understand the pressures of parenthood and can recall the days of learning to balance homework, nightly reading, inventive spelling, and all the requirements of a parent. I want you to know that I’ve been your shoes!
I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors, sports games, movies, travel, and young children. My weekends are filled with time improving our home, playing at the lake, and cloud watching. I am an avid scrap booker and stamper, and am a consultant for “Close To My Heart,” a rubber stamp and scrapbooking home business.
I am excited for every school year and look forward to getting to know your child. I believe each child was put on this earth for a special purpose. It’s my goal to help them find that purpose. I appreciate all levels of learning and challenges. I am dedicated to teaching and realize I am here to learn from students, as well as they will learn from me. I am open to new ideas, different perspectives, and constructive criticism.
