Dr. Nyland has served as superintendent of the Marysville School District for the last nine years. He has announced his retirement at the end of this school year. Gail Miller, assistant superintendent, will also be retiring at the end of this school year. Marysville has accomplished many great things over the recent years thanks to our dedicated staff and community partnerships. Our goal is to find a great new superintendent that will build on the foundation that we already have and take us to even greater success. We hope to have the new superintendent selected by March 30th (starting date July 1st) – in time to participate in the selection of the new assistant superintendent.

Public Meeting Schedule for Preliminary (Semifinalist) Interviews and Finalists Visits
Applicant files were screened on Friday, March 15. Preliminary interviews for the semifinalists will be held at
the Marysville School District Service Center Board Room beginning at 8:00 am
on Saturday, March 23rd. The
preliminary interview process is open to the public. The Board of Directors will ask the questions
of the candidates. Those in attendance
will serve as observers and will be given an opportunity to provide written
feedback to the Board.
Semifinalists Interview Schedule - Saturday, March 23, 2013
All semifinalist interviews will occur in the Board Room. The interviews are open to the public.
Plan to arrive a few minutes prior to the scheduled times for each interview. If you arrive between interviews, please wait outside of the board room until the interview in session is complete.
Finalists will be selected by the Board of Directors following the semifinalist’s interviews.
Superintendent finalist's candidate visits will will occur on March 25, 26, and 27. Each finalist candidate will spend a day of visitation in the district. Opportunities for staff, parents, students, and community members to meet the candidates in open forums are scheduled each of the three days (a separate candidate each day):
