Kindergarten Registration Open for Marysville Schools

Msvl. WA - Although the physical school buildings remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, parents and guardians are encouraged to register their child for kindergarten for the new school year as soon as possible.

“Although we do not fully know what the start of the school year will look like in the fall, we want to make certain that children get registered for kindergarten now so we can connect with families, communicate updates about school opening, help them prepare for their child to enter school, and support them during this time,” says Dr. Shelley Boten, Director of Elementary Schools.

The District kicked off kindergarten registration this year with a “March Into Kindergarten” campaign that began on March 1 which included planned welcome events for our incoming young learners and their families.  Due to the physical closure of all schools March 13, the campaign was cut short and schools were not able to carry out their plans during the month.

Registering for school is easy and can be done in multiple ways. Parents or guardians will need to have their child’s birth certificate and immunization records as well as emergency contacts on hand when registering.

Entering kindergarten is an exciting time for children and their families. During a typical school year, school starts during the first part of September. This year may look a little different but our school district wants parents and guardians to know that even with the current unknown status, taking care of registration early is an important first step.
