RE:  Grades, Grading for the remainder of the 2019 - 2020 School Year

The Marysville School District along with school districts across the state recently received guidance in the form of a draft framework from State Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal.

In our district, the Teaching and Learning staff in collaboration with school principals, are reviewing the framework guidelines carefully. OSPI’s guidelines are for school districts to use to help make decisions around how grades will be applied during distance learning.

In Marysville, our goal is to make decisions that are in the best interest of our students, and not make quick decisions that may change a few days later. We will keep the needs of our students at the forefront as we create a definitive plan for grades and grading for students in Kindergarten through grade 12.

We will continue to work on the plan for our schools and hope to communicate the plan to our parents and students early next week.
