COVID

As we wrap up another week of unexpected and unprecedented school closures, I want to thank our community, our families, our students, and our staff for their patience, grace, and understanding.  We are working hard to provide meals, instructional materials, and guidance for all of our students. We are continuing our partnership with the YMCA and Boys and Girls Clubs to provide childcare for our community.

This week in Marysville we served 25,746 meals, which is an increase of 15,690 from last week. This is more than we served over the course of our six-week summer meal program.

I’d like to give a huge shout out to our Food Service staff, who have been preparing and packaging these meals daily for our students since Monday, March 16. The dedication of our  Food Service staff and their work behind the scenes is the backbone to this vital service to our community. Next time you see a Food Service staff member, please take a moment to thank them for their service and dedication to our community.

It is important to note that our bus meal service will continue during Spring Break (April 6 through April 10).  Please click on the link to view the schedule for each neighborhood area https://bit.ly/MSDMealService

As I mentioned yesterday, we held our second Chromebook deployment and were happy to provide devices along with school supplies for over 500 additional families. I want to give a special thanks to the many volunteers who helped make it a huge success.  We understand many families are still in need of technology for upcoming instruction and academic support. If your family is still in need of a laptop computer or school supplies, please watch for upcoming announcements regarding future Chromebook deployments.

District account login information for K-5 students was mailed to the address of Parent / Guardian 1 yesterday, so you should be receiving that in the next day or two as well.

For those students or families who need Chromebook support, we have set up a Chromebook Support hotline you may call at (360) 965-0202 and a designated Chromebook support email address at chromebook-help@msvl.k12.wa.us

Please continue to stay safe and take care.

Sincerely,

Jason Thompson
