Marysville Pilchuck High School Drama Club presents Disney’s Beauty and the Beast

(Marysville, WA)—Marysville-Pilchuck High School Drama Club proudly announces the Spring Musical production of “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” presented in the M-PHS auditorium April 25th, 26th, 27th and May 2nd and 3rd at 7:00 pm with a matinee May 4th at 12:00 pm.  Tickets, available at the door, are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and students with ASB, and $5 for children 5 and under. Senior citizens with Gold Card are free.

“Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” features a cast and crew of Marysville-Pilchuck and Marysville-Getchell students.  The musical is based on the 1991 Academy Award-winning animated feature and tells the story of Belle, a beautiful and intelligent young woman whose attempt to rescue her father leads to her capture by the Beast, a fearsome monster who was trapped in his gruesome form by an enchantress who also transformed everyone else in his castle. The only way for the Beast and his enchanted household to become human again is for the Beast to learn to love and be loved in return.

MP student Morgan Reed stars at The Beast with MG student Victoria Steward as Belle. Others in the cast include Ashlyn Stoker, Rylee Worth, Angela Ferguson, Amanda Littell, Collin Black, Jamie Lawler, Joe Wilson, Julia Miranda, Rachel Bartholomew, Nikole DuFour, Cassie Kunsleman, Ivanna Garza, Lily Siron, Morgan Wright, Kaylee Balam, Veronika Gardulski,  Angelina Nguyen, Aislynn Reed, Kris Lawler, Ada Garza, Lina Calderon and Amaya Villabos. Many more students are part of our sound, stage and light crew and even more can be found in the orchestra pit conducted by the soon-to-be retired MP teacher Brian Kesler, accompanied by MP band teacher Gavin Knowles.

This production is directed by MP Drama teacher/director Roy Klementsen and assistant directed by MP student Ashlyn Stoker.  Vocal direction is by MG student Victoria Steward and Choreography is by students Mila Olason and Elise Sumsion. Costumes were created and supplied by Tiffeny Staoks and the Stadium High School Theatre Department in Tacoma, WA with help from Village Theatre Kidstage, Everett, WA.
